Alan's Story
Life
Alan married Jane Dawson Warner, whom he met at CSUN, and lived happily ever after. Really. Along the way they had three great kids/individuals: David (now a junior at Westwood HS in Austin, also starting middle linebacker), Jessica (who, having been accepted at a bunch of great schools, chose to study pre-Law at Texas Tech, but has now transferred to UT-Austin and in pre-Law), and Robyn, who is attending Austin Community College studying to be a paramedic. David plans on taking over a small third world nation. His current fav. is Costa Rica, but he's not all that particular. ;-) Jessica would like to take the Chief Justice's job. Seriously. Robyn wants to save people's lives. Jane manages the very large household, and was a professional school teacher for 11 years before retiring. She was a tremendous teacher, too.
The Weiss family lives, works, and plays in Austin, Texas along with three yellow Labradors, two kitties, and the general mayhem of life.
Alan's professional bio is at the Synchromesh Computing website. Do a Google search if you're interested.
Alan was elected, as a Libertarian, a Director of the Northwest Austin #1 Municipal Utility District and had a fiduciary responsibility for that public utility in the state of Texas, USA. He served as the Finance Chairman, and has lead the effort to reduce taxes while improving services. Taxes were reduced by over 50% on property in his District under his leadership, Services to residents/taxpayers were actually improved as a result. He then quit 'cause he finished what he set out to do.
Alan is the Founder and Chairman of The Ceres Project, a small investment project dedicated to funding a new film and book by L. Neil Smith entitled "Ceres", and is similarly the Founder and Chairman of the follow-up project, The Ares Alliance.

erprise, including "They're Not Here, and They're Not Coming", "SCOTUS Among Us", "The Economics of Sitting Ducks", "Alan R. Weiss Endorses Michael Badnarik for President", "Thoughts on Forms of Political Economy on Mars Part 1", "I Am A N--- - An Assay of Truth", "Real World Economics", "Planes, Trains, and the Free State Project", "Our Kind of Town", "The Dan Weiner Delivery", "On Mel Gibson", "On Texas Libertarianism and Secession", "Lux Lucre, R.I.P.", and "Not So Fast." He was on the front page of the Sunday edition of the Austin American-Statesman.

Alan joined the FSP as a Participant, then became an Organizer and Advisor, and then lead the Executive Search Team to find the Director of Development for the FSP. He was elected Vice President of the Free State Project. He attended and spoke at the 2004 Libertarian Party National Convention, where he gave a nominating speech for Michael Badnarik for President. Too bad Mike didn't win!
Now remember, Alan used to stutter like crazy. Guess what? ANYONE can succeed at ANYTHING in life. So now he sometimes gives motivational speeches on how to conquer fear, your own personal stuff getting in the way of success, and have fun doing it.
Alan is a member of the Libertarian Party, the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO), Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA), The Naturist Society (TNS), and formerly the Westwood High School Marching Band Boosters Club.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and has extensive post-baccalaureate training and education in all kinds of interesting subjects.
He accepted the Jesus Christ as his Savior, and is a member of Cypress Creek Community Church, where he plays the 12-string and electric guitar in the praise band. He had an "experience" at age 46 - amazing! Awesome! Unexpected! I'm really grateful to know GOD now.
